CASH BY POPULAR DEMAND 9/23/2014
With this year's edition of 'Till Things Are Brighter: The Songs of Johnny Cash' just over a month away, we're pleased to begin announcing the exciting acts that will be performing Johnny Cash songs at this year's concert on November 1.
One of the highlights of last year's show was the introduction of Graydon James and Laura Spink to the Port Hope audience--they of the Toronto band, Graydon James & The Young Novelists. We're happy to announce that they will be back as part of the 2014 show! Listen to their great harmonies on 'It Ain't Me, Babe', the Bob Dylan song that Johnny Cash covered on a 1965 record.
Tickets available through the Capitol Theatre Box Office this week.
TILL THINGS ARE BRIGHTER: CASH IS BACK
9/13/2014
The legend of Johnny Cash - musician, family man, recovered addict, and spokesman for the downtrodden - continues to inspire ‘Till Things Are Brighter: The Songs of Johnny Cash’.
This annual musical revue show has proven its staying power in this, its fourth season of raising funds for the Green Wood Coalition. Three previous shows, featuring a stellar roster of roots and blues artists performing Cash’s repertoire, have been a hit with audiences.
This year’s lineup features a slew of notable musicians who once again reflect multiple aspects of Cash’s career, according to Artistic Director and Host, David Newland.
Thanks to Cameco for their signature sponsorship that will allow individuals living on a low income to attend.
